Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain bioinformatics software tools and pipelines for processing and analyzing biological data.
Collaborate with scientists and researchers to understand requirements and implement effective solutions.
Optimize algorithms and workflows for performance and scalability.
Ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and documentation.
Stay current with developments in bioinformatics and contribute to the continuous improvement of our bioinformatics infrastructure.
Participate in cross-functional teams to support the integration of bioinformatics tools into our research workflows.
Contribute to the design and implementation of databases for storing and querying biological data.
Provide technical support and training to researchers on bioinformatics tools and software.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in developing bioinformatics software and pipelines.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, or C++.
Experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., BLAST, NCBI, Ensembl, UCSC Genome Browser).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of machine learning and data mining techniques.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Understanding of molecular biology and genomics.
